A slug is the readable part of a URL, such as /my-first-blog-post. Clean slugs are easier to share and help people and search engines understand a page.
Paste a title and get a slug. Accents are removed, ampersands become and, and anything that is not a letter or digit becomes a separator.

A slug is a URL path segment that identifies a page in human-readable form. This tool follows a simple pipeline: it decomposes each character with Unicode NFD normalization, which splits an accented letter such as e with an acute accent into a base letter and a combining mark, then deletes the combining marks. After that, an ampersand becomes the word and, and every run of characters that is not a letter A to Z or a digit collapses into one separator.
Collapsing runs matters because titles often contain punctuation clusters like a colon followed by a space or a dash surrounded by spaces. Without it you would get doubled hyphens. Leading and trailing separators are trimmed as well. The main limitation is script coverage: Greek, Cyrillic, Arabic and CJK letters are not Latin with accents, so they are dropped entirely. A title written only in those scripts needs transliteration or a manually written slug.
Hyphens are generally preferred for URLs because they read as word separators.
Characters outside A to Z and digits are removed, after accents are stripped from Latin letters.
Yes. Put each title on its own line.
No. It runs in your browser.
Avoid changing it. If you must, add a permanent redirect from the old URL to the new one so existing links and search rankings keep working.
Digits are kept as they are. Whether to include a year or date is an editorial choice, but dates in slugs make content look outdated when it is later refreshed.
